Meet some of the animals behind the Wild Encounters.

Customers have encountered animals ranging from tarantulas and turtles to lizards and snakes. Each presentation is an opportunity to understand how these animals live, adapt and why responsible care matters.

The animals attending a Wild Encounter may vary based on their health, welfare, season and event conditions. Kevin and his team select an appropriate group of animal ambassadors for each presentation.

Pick your question!

What would you ask the animals?

Imagine a snake slithering past your feet, a tortoise peeking out of its shell, or a tarantula walking very, very slowly across a hand. What would you want to know?

Can a snake smell with its tongue?

Does a tortoise’s shell grow with it?

Why doesn’t a tarantula get tangled in its own web?

Can a chameleon look in two directions at once?

Which animal would win the world’s slowest race?Which one would you be brave enough to meet?

Bring your biggest, funniest and weirdest questions. You can watch, ask questions and, when appropriate, meet selected animals at your own comfort level. You never have to touch an animal to join the adventure.

Both are great ways to join in.

West Coast Exotics badge

Fascinating does not mean easy to own.

Exotic animals can require specialized habitats, temperature control, diets and decades of care. Wild Encounters help guests understand the difference between appreciating an animal and being prepared to keep one responsibly.

A great selection of creatures from tarantulas to snakes, lizards to turtles.
